Reel Outpost started from a simple frustration: most casino comparison pages read like a list of buttons with the volume turned up, and precious few of them tell you anything you couldn't have guessed from the operator's own homepage. We set out to build the opposite — a comparison that assumes the reader can handle detail, and gives it to them.
We are not a gambling operator. We don't take deposits, run games, settle bets or have any part in the transaction between a player and an operator. Our role is narrower and, we think, more useful: we look at what's publicly available about each operator — its licensing, its game range, its live casino, its mobile experience, its support and its overall usability — and lay that out against a fixed set of criteria so it can be compared properly.
The site is affiliate-funded. When a reader signs up with an operator through a link on this site, we may earn a commission. That's disclosed plainly wherever it applies, and it's covered in full on our affiliate disclosure page. We think that funding model is fine to be honest about, provided it doesn't quietly steer the scoring — which is why our methodology is published rather than kept behind the numbers.
What shapes a listing, and what doesn't
What we check
Licensing status, self-exclusion routes, game range, live casino depth, studio partnerships, mobile experience, the type (not size) of welcome offer, support channels and general usability — the same eight criteria for every operator, published on the homepage.
What we don't cover
We don't compare deposit or withdrawal methods, processing times, or anything involving how money moves — that's a payments question best answered by the operator directly, not a comparison site.
What doesn't move a grade
Commission rates don't factor into scoring. An operator that pays us nothing and an operator that pays us well are graded against the same eight criteria, by the same method, in the same amount of detail.
